Unknown Crossroads (2016) for chamber orchestra. 13 min.
In Unknown Crossroads, I use primarily three motives. I transformed these motives in as way ways that I could think of: changing the rhythm, transposing them, harmonization, extending, layering, and turning into a background figure. I also wanted to combine two of my favorite styles at the time: John Luther Adams - style minimalism, with Periphery-style heavy metal.
This piece was written for my senior recital at Rutgers University in 2016, and has also been performed by Helix! New Music Ensemble in 2017.
