Rupture (2016) for electronics. 6 min.
I wrote this piece only using two sound concepts: scratchy noise and ambient space chords. I wanted as much contrast between the two sounds as possible, to the point where I questioned whether these two sounds should be paired in the first place. I further separated the two using panning, which is amplified if this piece is listened to with headphones. I wrote this with no performance in mind, or any long-term goal; I just wanted to write an electronic piece that I would find interesting and would enjoy listening to.
This piece was first presented publicly on my senior recital, on November 18th, 2016.
